Two ways to explore your data—no code required

Count gives you two flexible environments for low-code data exploration:

  • Explore view – A focused, single-cell sandbox ideal for quick, one-off analysis

  • Canvas – A full workspace where you can build up analysis and reports, collaborate, and combine visuals

Using the Explore view

The Explore view launches straight into a low-code cell, ready for quick data exploration. Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose your data source from the Source dropdown—this could be a database or a defined metric from a catalog.

  2. Once selected, you'll see options to choose your dataset or table.

  3. Toggle between Table and Visual view using the buttons at the top.

  4. If you're building a visualization, pick a chart type from the template icons and drag-and-drop fields to build it out.

⚠️ Your work in the Explore view isn’t saved automatically.

If you want to keep it, click Save as canvas in the top-right corner. This turns your exploration into a full canvas—where you can continue editing, add more visuals, and collaborate with others.

You can also export your cell directly from the design panel (as PDF, PNG, or CSV).

Using the Canvas

In the full Canvas environment, you can add low-code visuals or tables by clicking the low-code icon in the bottom toolbar:

  1. Click on the canvas to place your visual or table cell.

  2. In the right-hand panel, select your data source and visualization type.

  3. Drag and drop fields to build your table or visual—just like in Explore, but now within a collaborative space.
